They had usb & hdmi capability, which I find unnecessary compared to getting a good picture w/o buggy software. The direction of search should use a simple analog clock. To enjoy the full capacity of DTV you need a TV with a digital tuner, or, even better, an HDTV. This means an analog TV wont reflect the quality levels of a digital TV, not even close. A special function is not carried out now. The only thing a converter box does is read the digital signal transmitted to the antenna and translate it to the lower resolution your analog TV will understand.

Each of the modern digital converter boxes I tried & returned (four of them) had that same distortion at the top, but heavier in most of the boxes & they were terrible in their basic functioning very poorly made! They were all, obviously, clones. Analog Clock By M&S ( Free ) Analog Clock A simple analog clockIt is an analog clock widget of M&S work.

This one is exactly like the old one in every respect including the remote & the way in which it functions except the distortion at the top. That one was excellent, while this one has one flaw, which is that there is a segment of the screen at the top which has very light horizontal lines across it, and which has some slight, inverted text in that same area, annoying but not the worst thing.

This Zinwell appears to be exactly like the one I had for 10 years. The Zinwell is far superior in doing what is most important, reliably converting the digital signal to analog with a good picture and w/o bugs in the software. Much better than the so called modern boxes.
